Chistmas Tree Hunting

I love Anna's freckles, she is such a joy in my life.
We rode in the back of the truck to get to our car,
first time for the girls, they were in heaven.

It is a beautiful day today, the snow is coming down and I am inside, it looks so Christmasy. I have felt more of the Christmas spirit this year than ever. I think not having much money this year has been such a good thing, I feel like my girls are getting more involved in our gifts. We have been trying to make most of our gifts, which is challenging because I am not the most crafty person. Anna and Livy are so excited for Tony's family in England to open their homemade presents.
We cut down our own Christmas tree this year, we drove about 2 hours and hiked through the snow. We went with our good friends Marc and Cec Smith, with their two kids Ryan and Shay. As you can see the tree looks smaller in the forest, it is almost touching our ceiling. Livy kept climbing up the ladder without us looking, scared us to death. Notice Livy had to wear her fancy Christmas dress to decorate the tree.
We are having our first Christmas without any extended family this year, it has been 5 years since that happened (before Livy was born). I am looking forward to it, although I love having big crowded Christmas' too.

Halloween

Halloween night, Olivia, Calli Jo, Anna and Brennan! We had a party at our home after all the kids went trick-or-treating. What a fun night, lots of friends over.

Anna, Livy and I went to a "Witches Tea" party. All the mothers and daughters were dressed up as witches. Our neighbor had the party in her home, she had decorated all the rooms. Each age group would go into separate rooms and do different activities then change rooms. All the little girls learned a dance that they showed us at the end of the night in the garage that was decorated with balloons and streamers everywhere. Then we all danced to High School Musical and Who Let the Dogs Out. They had a big pot and did a witches brew putting things in it such as "dog's tongue", lots of dried ice (Livy got a little scared at this). One of the ladies in charge had a little poem/story that she told at the end saying now we are all "Sisters" so when we see each other at the store or at school we have to give each other a wink. I must admit I teared up a little. It was a majical night that I loved spending with my wonderful girls. Did I mention I love being a Mom.

Fall Hiking
We hiked 5 miles and saw like 16 lakes. So freaking beautiful this time of year. Anna was a trouper and made it the whole way without complaining. Livy walked some but was spoiled by her Dad being carried in the backpack. So nice to spend a Sunday in the Mountains with family and friends. We went with our good friends Cec, Marc and Shay. Shay and Anna are best of friends.Thursday, September 25, 2008

China

I would consider China, the trip of a lifetime. I didn't see my girls for 15 days, longest ever, it was easier than I thought. I felt like I got intouch with myself on this trip. It was fun to feel like a kid again and be with my siblings. The thing I love most about this trip is bonding experiences with my sister-in-laws, they are all such good friends I feel lucky to have them in my life. Gary and Chris kept throwing out the we are almost 50 comment, but you would never know it, felt like we were teenagers hanging out, going to an Oakley party at 1:30 am and coming home at 3:30 am.
I feel like I laughed non-stop, watching Jake made us all so proud (wanted to tell everyone he is our brother). What fantastic memories, hope they never fade (until the next Olympics when we can get everyone there).

They played on the water slide, sprinklers, had a water balloon fight and broke a pinata. Anna had 9 of her close friends over. What a great day.Happy Birthday my princess.

Trip to Ferron, Utah
Drove through Huntington, Utah where my Grandpa Gibb lived, 20 miles further is Ferron, Utah. We stayed there a few nights with our good friends, Cecily, Marc, Ryan and Shay Smith, during the day we took little trips to Millsite Reservoir and Joe's Valley. Was really a fun family time.
Hike with Anna to top of a cliff, this is looking over the cliff at the reservoir. Anna was nervous at some parts of the hike but became very confident after awhile.Olivia loves the worms. The last two fishing trips Anna is the only one to catch a fish (she caught 2).
