Tubing
Chloe came for a visit for just one day but we built a snowman and went tubing. So fun to see these girls giggle together. Tony does build the best snowmen, too bad Rosie ate it the next morning.

Anna as an Indian
Styling Anna.
Anna and Tony made this teepee for a school project. Anna was so excited to do it and had some great ideas, like the rocks that made a river down the side.
Showing some of her classmates.
4th Graders all preformed a square dance for the parents. Afterwards they had a sale for all the kids in the school, we made pet rocks, close pins and braclets. Anna said her table was swarmed and sold out in 3 minutes (which is pretty good because we had about 125 items, just ask my fingers that were raw from the glue gun).

Tony
Tony watched the girls for 5 day while I went to rainy Jamaica,, he spoiled the girls of course, took them to Szechwan where they can heat their food over a fire. This is a picture I received while gone. Livy told him "this is the best week of my life", nice.
Ok, you know I hate to get all mushy about my husband but just a cute thing he did....while I was gone not only did he watch the girls (1st time watching them overnight in 9 years, yes Anna is 9) he made this frame for me when I got back. It is my medal and number from my marathon, I was really touched. He is really loosing his bad boy image with me. The other night Tony gave me the giggles so bad, which is amazing because I don't find him very funny usually, perhaps it was the glass of wine. Anyways we had this conversation that I would like a skillet for Christmas....so he continues to tell me that in England a skillet is a spatula, I said what is a spatula, he said it is a wooden stick. (Couldn't stop laughing) then a few minutes later he said "stepping up to the crease" instead of plate, some association to cricket. Ok, I know it was one of those you had to be there, but oh I had such a good giggle. No wonder we can't communicate, maybe that is why we get along.

Anna sick this week
Anna reminds me of my brother Dale, she loves pulling faces when she knows I am taking a photo.
Sweet as can be.
Oh she looks old.
Anna was sick this week and stayed home from school 3 days. She was so nervous to go back to school after being off, so I laid with her in bed as she cried and told me all her worries in the world. She is such a softy she breaks my heart. So after telling her I would go in with her in the morning and telling her that she will never have to take ski lessons again, because of some asshole who taught her last year that was a total jerk and took her through trees when she was scared to death and yelled at her.
So I brought all this up because of the following that Anna wrote for school, she was to write about something that was not her fault.
"This is a story when it was not my fault. It all started when I was four. Ok, I stole chap stick from my sister when she was one. She started to chase me and I jumped on to a chair. She fell off the chair and broke her arm. That is the story when it was not my fault."
I have been kind of heart broken that she has to explain that it wasn't her fault. Neither Tony or I have ever heard this story from her. Livy fell off the back of a big chair she was sitting on with Anna when she fell. I picked her up but she wanted to be put down that is when I saw Livy's arm bend the wrong way at the elbow. Oh I freaked out, called my friend to come get Anna and I am sure was not consoling to Anna in anyway. Livy ended up having surgery and staying in the hospital for 2 days. It amazes me that she remembers it even though she was 4 and kills me to think that she had anything to do with it.
Oh, I love this girl and don't want her to ever get hurt physically or emotionally.....how does a Mom do that?

Grandma Roxie visits
Anna and Livy went on the bus with their Grandma from England, frightening that it is a novelty for them to go on a bus. She takes them to Main Street in Park City, go for Cow's ice-cream and see the museum.Thursday, September 9, 2010
Livy's first loose tooth
Labor Day was really a fun day, 1st the the Miner's Day parade then meet the Davis' for the Alpine Slide and Coaster. I love having them live near us, I love getting to know these kids and I love how they treat my girls. (Plus they like to eat at Mexican restaurants, yahoo!
Livy and Sara
At the Miner's Day parade, freaking freezing. Livy, Anna and Logan (he is one of Anna's best friends). Girls thought it was better than the 4th of July because they were handing out a ton of stuff, only because an election is coming up.
Anna and Jenna
Livy's favorite outfit for the moment, she spends ages on her hair to come forward over her eyes, if I brush it back she pulls it down.

I think she was the only one in her class last year that hadn't lost a tooth so it has been an obsession for awhile. She was so excited we had to keep looking in the mirror and wiggling it. These were the comments for the next 24 hrs.
-How am I suppose to sleep with a loose tooth?
-How am I suppose to brush my teeth with a loose tooth?
I love experiencing all these little things with my girls..so fun.

Tony
Orange County Fair, Tony, Olivia & Josh
Anna & TonyAnna came home from her second day of school and was crying because at lunch she said she ate alone. It absolutely broke my heart, she said the table her friends were at was full. Many of her friends left this year to the Charter school. So I heard Tony in the other room talking to her, telling her how when he was her age he moved to Australia and didn't know anyone. He told her he didn't even know where the playground was but within a few weeks he had friends and so will she. Anna just calmed right down it was so nice to see....so nice to see this side of my husband that most people don't know exist. He tries to keep it a secret but he is a fantastic Dad.
Oh, I hate seeing my kids go through tough times, just want to protect them.

1st & 2nd day at school

2nd day of school, Olivia is so excited about her skinny jeans to tuck in her shoes. Livy didn't want to kiss me goodbye with all of her friends around...my baby is moving on. Luckily Anna still loves to give kisses.Sunday, August 22, 2010
Marathon
My first Marathon, what a great experience. I got emotional numerous times during the run, loved seeing my family along the way and loved feeling strong and accomplished during the run. I have been training for the past 8 months, loved having a goal to work towards, having some alone time and doing something just for me.

6:29 am waiting to start as they sing the national anthem!
Tony dropping me off, beautiful sunrise.
My cheering group Logan, Calli, Anna, Shay and Livy (Mile 15)
Tony making me laugh!
Can you see my pain....oh, ow!!

Can you see my pain....oh, ow!!I wanted to write about my marathon before I forget:
Woke up 4:45 am, couldn't fall asleep until about 1 am was nervous and excited. Had my coffee, oatmeal and toast. Tony dropped me off at 6:10 am. Started at 6:30. Everyone started out so fast but I just held back and let everyone pass me, just kept looking at my watch so I would keep on my 11 1/2 - 12 min per mile pace. Didn't use my headphones for the first 5 miles, just enjoyed the morning and the beautiful sunrise. Did my routine of run 5 min, walk 1 min up until about 17 miles than the walks were a bit longer. At about 2 miles I could hear a bike behind me, think I was the last person but didn't want to look back because I was feeling so good. At 13 miles, Tony, Anna, Olivia, Marc, Shay, John, Calli and Logan all met me with a sign. I got choked up it really was incredible to see them. Then they met me at mile 15, 17, 20 & 22; then at 24 miles, Dale, Joy and Michelle were there. It really meant the world to me at that moment. At mile 18 my friends Cynthia and Annete cheered me on.
I felt very strong and on a high until about mile 23, could do my run walk at a good pace. Then the last 3 miles I thought I was going to die. Felt like I had little razor cuts on the ball of my foot and my toe on the other foot was cramping. It hurt just as much to walk as it did run, so I kept trying to run it just wouldn't last very long. Sweet Michelle walked with me for a few blocks at 24 1/2 miles, great words of encouragement from my sweet older sister.
Very sore the first 5 hours after the run, even laying down hurt. Took lots of baths and felt much better. Second day a bit sore but not more than any of my other long runs
I feel so content to have completed this and shared it with so many close family and friends. All the nice messages I received before the run were incredible.
