Englishism

Little funny things lately that make me realize my girls are half English.

  • At dinner the other night, Tony told Livy it would be easier to use her knife to scoop her corn onto her fork, Livy told him "We are American you know".

  • Anna is all about the smells of England. I picked up Anna from school and was wearing Coco Channel perfume she said "you smell just like Grandma Roxie".
  • Hayley gave me some Origins hand cream for Christmas, I was wearing it and Anna said "It smells like England, England has a good smell".
  • I receive this text from my friend Cynthia this weekend (Kids playing war with planes and soldiers, Anna yells "you've got to be bloody kidding me?". "Livy wants to kill all the prisoner, Brennan and Anna convince her it would take to long to kill them all, best to put them in jail.)
  • We bought a black leotard for Livy's play, told her they didn't have the nude colored tights at the store, she said "Can I ask my teacher if we can do any color of stockings like purple?" It is killing her that she has a plain outfit, I told her they will be adding to it.
  • Asked Anna how the chess game went with her friend Logan the day before, she said "I had to take it easy on him, didn't want to beat him too early". She is quite the whiz at chess.
  • Olivia playing Wii with her friend Logan who was using the player named Jane Gibb, Olivia said "Isn't Jane pretty (meaning her cartoon figure), you should see her in real life she is really, really pretty."

Oh those are classic! We gotta get Jake and Anna in a chess match when you guys come. And who named their Wii character Jane Gibb? I love the use of "bloody". That is such a great word that needs to be used more often.

Tony's way of eating is much preferred over American. It's so stupid how we cut and then switch. Europeans just keep the knife in left and fork in right, no switching.
